(Public entry) (Spoiler warning :P) (Fan arts not by me.)
I know many people have made posts like these
(Chie-Chie) , but I really wanted to make one of my own.
I love BOTH Rukia Kuchiki and Orihime Inoue. Orihime-chan is a great girl, but I don't think her and Ichigo are right for one another.Ok, and keep in mind, Kubo has stated he does not intend to make Bleach a romance; it's not a shoujo title. However no one can question the fact there are hints of romance all over Bleach. As a shipper of Ichiruki, I believe eventually Kubo will decide to end it with Ichiruki. Though of course I'm not Kubo, so this post is merely for argument's sake. (Oh and entertainment!)
Here's the question that has sparked so many debates and arguments in the Bleach community: Will Ichigo end up with Rukia, or Orihime? Both of these girls have the possibility of being with Ichigo, but I believe Rukia has much more of a chance. I'm going to start by listing what each of the girls have going for them in terms of a future relationship. :)
Starting with Miss Orihime Inoue, here are her advantages: *
Sympathy. First one I could think of. Orihime has a tragic story going on for her. Bad for her, but there's a small possiblity Kubo would play the sympathy card planning for a future relationship between Ichigo and Orihime. *shrugs*
*
Age. She's 15, at least she started that way at the beginning of the series. So, she's about Ichigo's age. I guess if age matters in a relationship, this would be an advantage.
*
She's a Human Girl. And this is really a weak argument, because we don't know for sure if she is. She has God-like powers; something has got to be up! But I'll write this here because I've seen people use this as an argument on forums.
*
The "Kiss" scene. Because we all know because since she
almost kissed Ichigo, it must be love! Still, Kubo did chose to put this important scene in the manga, so I will qualify it as an advantage.
*
She's a princess, thus must have a happy ending. Ok this is what usually happens, but is Bleach typical? And who says her happy ending has to be with Ichigo?
*
But...who will she be with if she's not with Ichigo? I dunno, Ishida? Tatsuki? Herself? She's a strong girl, she'll be ok.
*
HUECO. MUNDO. Caps in big to prove a point. Hueco Mundo is a fairly strong argument at first glance, because now she has to be rescued and she is getting a whole arc to herself, just as Rukia did. But what remains to be seen is if anything will happen between Ichigo and Orihime once he saves her, if he does.
*
Appearance. A very, very shallow argument, but again, I've seen this one floating around on the net. She's closer to his height. Ok, whatever. Orihime has bigger boobs, so hence, she's suddenly hawter than Rukia. Now, if Ichigo shares a similarity with Kubo Tite, he loves big breasts. So if Ichigo is a sex-crazed, hormonal teen like most boys (And men) are, this could play in favor for Hime. However..Rukia's gorgeous and has a nice body on her as well. I am of the belief that she's a B or C, which is often said to be the "perfect breast size". Anyway I'm getting off track. So, onward!

Now for the negatives. Orihime Inoue:
*It's a CRUSH. Most people get crushes on other people, right? This is normal for girls Orihime's age. But where is the basis for a real relationship, or, LOVE? His "funny look" or "scent"? It's a mere crush that she must grow out of to become stronger.
*Low level of intimacy These two, in both the anime and manga, are RARELY alone together. There are a few scenes where they share moments alone, but they are few and far between. She doesn't talk to him very much at all, and there just doesn't seem to be a connection between the two. And her "smelling him" doesn't count, I think EVERYONE can smell Ichigo. :P
*Hair Color. Again, a shallow argument. But she does have basically the same hair color as Ichigo. They look like siblings.
*"KUROSAKI-KUN!!!!" Yes it only gets extreme in the anime, what with her girly moanings to couple with the 18 screams. But in the manga (I believe) she only refers to him as "Kurosaki", instead of the more familiar "Ichigo". This is important to the Japanese.
*If it weren't for Rukia's promptings, they wouldn't even be friends It's true, you know. He only knew her through Tatsuki and the incident of the clinic. Rukia's capture leads them to go to Soul Society together. When the bount arc is done, Rukia is there for Orihime and makes Ichigo apologize to her and be more gentlemanly.
*She doesn't have the strength Ichigo needs. She can heal, yes. But this is not the sort of strength Ichigo needs. He needs someone with a strong personality who will not be fearful and nervous around him.
*She's a human girl. This argument can go both ways. She's not a shinigami, so can never have that connection with Ichigo that Rukia innately does.
*She died in the pilot chapter of Bleach. Even if there was hinting of a "crush" or "love" between Ichigo and Orihime, the fact remains that Orihime eventually died.;
Total cons: 8

Next is Rukia Kuchiki, the many things she has going for her:
*Female lead. Yes, yes she is the female lead of Bleach. No one could logically argue this. She is the first character to show up in the series, even before Ichigo. If that is not a lead, then I don't know what is.
*She changed Ichigo's world. She stabbed him, essentially killing him, and turning him into a substitute shinigami so he could protect those dear to him. They say love is all about change, and this is definitely a big change for both of them.
*She's a strong woman. Yes, yes, so is Inoue. But Rukia is strong in a different way. She's much more mature, and understanding. She does not flinch at the thought of Ichigo having a hollow inside of him. She instead encourages him to become stronger. She can stand by his side without fear.
*Soul Society. Which came first kids, Soul Society or Hueco Mundo? Chronologically, Soul Society did. Ichigo saved Rukia FIRST. This is the first time he take a trip into an unknown world for someone. Orihime came second, he's already saved Rukia, so now it's time for Orihime. Yup.
*Their Level of Intimacy. Ichigo and Rukia, both in the anime and the manga, have a much higher level of intimacy than Ichigo and Orihime. Even when they first met they were already joking around, talking, skipping class together. Sometimes you even get the feeling Ichigo and Rukia have more "mature" levels of intimacy (AKA: SEX) that can't be shown in the manga and anime. There are hints all around. Plus the fact that they seem to share secrets and thoughts together quite often. (AKA: MEMORIES IN THE RAIN)
*Hair Color: CHANGED! Kubo changed Ichigo's hair to orange SPECIFICALLY to make Ichigo and Rukia look better TOGETHER. I mean, they'd still look great if he had black hair, but Kubo still made this change for aesthetics. Hm..
*Ray of Light. Kubo has verified that Rukia is like a ray of light to Ichigo. I'd say that has some pretty strong meaning behind it. He has also mentioned other shippy things in interviews, and has made many, many subtle hints. Pay attention guys, Tite knows what he's doing. ;)
*Fan Support. Yes, for the most part, Rukia has more fan support than Orihime does. Especially in Japan. (Which, by the way, is where Bleach originated.)
*Family. While Rukia's family doesn't support Ichigo YET, Ichigo's family appears to like Rukia. She's met them, at least!
*Together. A minor reason, but it always struck me as important when I read the first Bleach manga. Kubo's profiles of Ichigo and Rukia are right next to each other's in the first manga. Implying they are the destined couple, right? Orihime, on the other hand, is next to Chad I think. No coupling there at least. XD On the subject of together, Ichigo and Rukia are featured together in more artworks by Kubo. Are Ichigo and Orihime even featured ALONE together in an official artwork?
*"Ichigo." Not "Kurosaki-kun". Why call him such a formal title when they are already so close?
Total Pros: 11
The bad for Kuchiki:
*She's older than him. I've heard this argument used. But in the world of anime, this is really null and void. She may be "150 years old" or something, but age really has no weight here. Love isn't about age, after all.
*She still loves Kaien. Did she ever LOVE him? Was that verified? Yes, she respected him and looked up to him, but was there anything more than friendly love? There's no way she can ever forget Kaien after what happened between them, but he is not Ichigo. Just because they look alike means nothing. So the "OMG she just likes Ichigo because he looks like Kaien!!" is invalid.
*Noble/family issues. Yeah, this IS a valid negative for Rukia. Byakuya is very protecting of Rukia, and it's hard to say whether he supports Ichigo or not. And, she is part of a noble family, and Ichigo is a mere human. Very true. But has this come in the way of true love before?
*"She's such a bitch towards him!" Compared to Orihime's timid girliness, yes. Otherwise, she's quite normal with him. Plus, who says Ichigo can't be subsmissive?
*Appearance A stupid con, because Rukia is quite pretty, sexy, and cute. Just because Orihime has big melons/jugs means nothing. And Rukia's short, so what? So is Orihime; there's not that much difference between them in height.
Total cons: 5
Clearly, Rukia is the victor!! WINNAR!
That's all I have for now. Please tell me if there's something I forgot, because I know I probably did! Feel free to argue and discuss these pros and cons too, it will give me insight. :D
